Schlussel (née Rosenman) passed away peacefully January 17, 2017. She is survived by her sons Ken, Gary and Rick, and her grandchildren Sierra, Kyle and Zoe.

Born in Paris as her family was fleeing the atrocities of eastern europe, she finally arrived in the US with her parents via Ellis Island when she was 3. She grew up in Brooklyn, a place and time she loved and wanted to return to till her very last day.

In 1949 she married Oscar and soon thereafter started a family in Philadelphia. In the mid 60’s they moved to Orange County and then San Diego, where she lived for over three decades until moving North to Roseville to be close to lots of loving family and friends.  Above all she cherished spending time with her family and celebrating all the holidays. She also loved her jewishness, friends, dancing, playing bridge and painting. She was fiercely independent, drove her own car and lived on her own home till her last year.

Private family services were held in San Diego on January 20, 2017.

If you feel moved, please make a donation in her name to a Jewish or Veterans cause.
